Brian Stevenson received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Shepherd University as a woodwind instrumentalist and went on to teach woodwinds and serve as lecturer there for two years. He plays the flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, guitar, mandolin, harp, and is currently working on piano and organ. As a woodwind instrumentalist and harpist he has played in several orchestral venues and is also a freelance professional harpist in the Metro D.C. area.

Brian received a Masters in Ministerial Studies from Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary (concentration in Christian Education and Music). While in seminary, he studied voice with Kermit Finstad at Gettysburg College. Brian went through the certification requirements

and became a Rostered Associate in Ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and also received certification as a Stephen Leader (of Stephen Ministries – Pastoral Care ministry).

From 1993 – present, Brian has served five congregations in the Northern Virginia area as Director of Youth Ministries and Music, directing Children’s, Youth, and Adult choirs and handbells. He is presently also serving Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Warrenton part-time as their Saturday night Worship Leader.

Brian and his wife Tarja live in Manassas with their Shih Tzu "Mikki-Woo." Tarja is an ordained minister of the ELCA and is presently serving as Associate Pastor at St. Matthew's in Lakeridge, Va. Brian is excited about serving at St. George’s and looks forward to bringing people together in using their talents to the glory and praise of the risen Savior!
